  • What is the difference between PACER and CM/ECF?

Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) is a service that provides electronic public access to federal appellate, district, and bankruptcy court records. PACER is provided by the Federal Judiciary in keeping with its commitment to providing public access to court information via a centralized service. Please visit the PACER Service Center at for additional information.
Case Management/Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF) is a nationally supported system that allows the court and parties to file documents electronically. For CM/ECF assistance, please contact your local ECF Help Desk.
Attorneys and pro se parties who wish to file electronically in this court must register for an individual PACER account (if they do not already have one) and then submit an E-Filing Registration Request for the Northern District of Texas.
