The Hon. D. Gordon Bryant, Jr., United States magistrate judge, has informed the court of his intention to retire in July 2024 following the completion of his term and after 33 years of federal service. Judge Bryant has been a magistrate judge in Lubbock, Texas, since 2016. Prior to his appointment to the bench, Judge Bryant served as an Assistant United States Attorney in Amarillo, Texas, from 1991 to 2016. He was an Associate at Gibson, Ochsner and Adkins in Amarillo from 1986 to 1991.
The court has requested authorization to refill Judge Bryant’s position. If approved, the court will begin the selection process under guidelines established by the Judicial Conference of the United States.
