The Certificate of Good Standing verifies that an attorney is a member in good standing with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas. A fee is required for this certificate. Please carefully verify your admission status before making a request by viewing the Admission/ECF Status Report or by contacting the Clerk's Office at 214-753-2240. This verification step is particularly important because if you are not admitted and in good standing, you will not receive a certificate, and the Clerk’s Office cannot refund your fee payment.
If you are an ECF user, you may request and pay for your certificate via the Request for Certificate of Good Standing function, found under Civil Events -> Other Filings. (You may request certificates for up to four additional attorneys during the transaction.) In most instances, we can email the certificate(s) to you the same day.
If you are not an ECF user, please register via PACER. Click here for more information regarding ECF Registration. If you prefer not to make an online request, send a written request for a certificate of good standing to the clerk's office. In the request, include your full name and bar number. Also include the required payment, and a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
