Winning the Evidentiary Battles at Bond, Sentencing, and Revocation

Even when the rules of evidence aren't in play, there are limits on what information the court can consider at a hearing. This session will discuss strategies for combating government efforts to rely on prejudicial and unreliable evidence at hearings and offer suggestions for getting the evidence you need into the record.

Presented by Juval O. Scott, Attorney Advisor, Defender Services Office Training Division

Winning the Evidentiary Battles at Bond, Sentencing, and Revocation

Tuesday, September 27, 2016, 10:00 a.m. (EST)
Thursday, September 29, 2016, 2:00 p.m. (EST) (REPEAT)

Participants have the opportunity to interact with the presenter by participating in polling questions and to ask questions in real time. Attendance is tracked and recorded for CLE purposes. Each presentation will last approximately 1 hour and the training division will apply for CLE credit in those states that do not charge for an application and those in which attorneys can not individually apply (see the attached list; the one exception is Kansas, where we will apply only if someone from that state registers for the webinar). In all other states, participants must self apply, and we can provide certification that any of those registrants participated. Information about how to access the webinar and CLE will be provided to those who register approximately 10 days before the webinar. Participation is limited to 200 people per webinar.

These presentations will be recorded for later playback for those unable to participate in the live webinars.
