The Dallas Federal Bar Association, the United States District Clerk's Office, the University of North Texas College of Law, and the Federal Public Defender (NDTX) are pleased to announce the Dallas Federal Criminal Law CLE event to be held July 26-28, 2017 at UNT College of Law in downtown Dallas. We anticipate the State Bar of Texas approving this event for 20 hours CLE credit of which 3 hours will qualify for ethics.
Seminar Focus and Curriculum: This year’s seminar focuses on three areas:
- Federal criminal law practice updates (e.g., Discovery Server; Immigration implications; Firearms, Drug cases; etc);
- Federal sentencing practice considerations (i.e., determine whether a conviction qualifies as an ACCA predicate (“Violent felony” or “serious drug offense”) or a Sentencing Guideline predicate (“Crime of violence” or “aggravated felony” or “drug-trafficking offense” or “controlled substance offense”); and
- Federal Trial Practice skills refreshers.
