Directions

The J. Marvin Federal building and Courthouse is located at 205 East Fifth Street between Taylor and Fillmore.

If traveling . . .

North on 287: take Taylor St. exit to Downtown to E. 5th

South on I-27: take Fillmore St. exit to Downtown to E. 4th and around the corner left to Taylor St.

West on I-40: take Downtown exit to Fillmore St. exit to E. 4th and around the corner left to Taylor St.

East on I-40: take Downtown exit to Fillmore St. exit to E. 4th and around the corner left to Taylor St.

East on 60: If you stay on Amarillo Blvd, turn left on Taylor St. and continue to E. 5th St.

Note: East Fifth Street is a one way toward the east so it is necessary to go around the block to Taylor and back on E. 5th to be in front of the Courthouse.

Parking

A parking lot is provided for the convenience of jurors. It is located on the corner of Fillmore and East 4th. The lot is called Khiva Shrine Parking Lot, adjacent to Make A Wish. Space is limited; therefore, parking will be on a first-come basis.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Attendance Fee and Reimbursements

You are paid a $40.00 attendance fee for each day you report for your assigned jury duty. You may not be paid if you appear and request to be excused for reasons which were well known to you at the time you completed the pre-screening questionnaire. Federal government employees will not be reimbursed the $40.00 attendance fee. Regardless of the type of transportation you use (e.g., personal automobile, bus, train), you will be given a travel allowance of the (current mileage rate) per mile round trip from your home to the Federal building US Post Office and Courthouse. You will receive your jury fee check within three to four weeks after your completion of service.
