Directions

The Federal Building Courthouse/Post Office is located at 341 Pine between North 3rd and 4th Streets. Free Parking is available at Mesquite and North 3rd Street.

If traveling . . .

West on I-20: Take Abilene exit (#20R), continue west to intersection of North 2nd and Pine, then turn right onto Pine and travel one block north to corner of 3rd and Pine.

East on I-20: Take Abilene/Business 83 exit (#286) turning right at intersection. Stay in right lane and follow Pine Street signs to courthouse (between North 3rd and 4th Streets).

South on 83: Proceed under I-20 and stay in right lane following Pine Street signs. Proceed south on Pine; Courthouse is between North 4th and 3rd Streets.

North on 83/84 (also known as Treadaway): Proceed through Railroad underpass and turn left onto North 1st Street (first stoplight after railroad underpass) and continue for five blocks to Pine Street. Turn right onto Pine and travel two block north to North 3rd Street.

Parking

Parking at meters around the Courthouse building is prohibited. A government parking lot is located at North 3rd Street, between Mesquite and Walnut Streets (turn into lot at the alley).

 

 

 

 

Attendance Fee and Reimbursements

You are paid a $40.00 attendance fee for each day you report for your assigned jury duty. You may not be paid if you appear and request to be excused for reasons which were well known to you at the time you completed the pre-screening questionnaire. Federal government employees will not be reimbursed the $40.00 attendance fee. Regardless of the type of transportation you use (e.g., personal automobile, bus, train), you will be given a travel allowance of the (current mileage rate) per mile round trip from your home to the Federal building US Post Office and Courthouse. You will receive your jury fee check within three to four weeks after your completion of service.
