Guide for Filing a Notice of Appeal (Civil
or Criminal)

| Notice of Appeal |
Please submit an original and two
copies of the notice of appeal for filing. (If you desire a
file-stamped copy for your records, please submit an additional
copy.) The notice of appeal should specifically
state which order or judgment is being appealed.
Documents presented for filing must
comply with the Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure, the Local
Rules of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Local Rules
of the Northern District of Texas. |
| Service |
The appeals coordinator will send
a copy of the notice of appeal to all parties on the case either
by facsimile transmission or by first class mail. |
| Court Fees |
The appellate filing fee is $455.00
Make checks payable to "Clerk, U.S. District Court." |
| Transcript |
A transcript order form must be submitted
for filing even if a trial or hearing was not held.
