The United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas is recruiting for the position of Operations Support Specialist/Courtroom Deputy Trainee. Periodic travel within Texas may be required. Duties of the incumbent include but are not limited to: assisting in managing judges' caseloads; providing courtroom assistance, including preparing and entering minutes of court proceedings and maintaining exhibits; and completing monthly civil and criminal reports. The incumbent also maintains the official case events summary on the docket (civil and criminal) from opening to final disposition and assists in all operations duties, including, but not limited to, jury, appeals, cashiering, financial reconciliation, intake, and records management. The incumbent serves as a liaison among the clerk’s office, the bar, federal and state agencies, and the judges to ensure that cases proceed smoothly and efficiently. When a courtroom deputy position becomes available, the incumbent, if successful in courtroom deputy training, will be elevated to a courtroom deputy position without further competition. The courtroom deputy position may have a target grade of CL 26 or CL 27.
